BRIEF

Michele came to me during the early stages of opening her drive-thru coffee shop. She was determined to create a brand that stood out in Alaska, avoiding the typical "Wilderness" theme. With the name "Wild One," Michele wanted her brand to embody the spirit of everyones inner wild one—being the unique, fun-loving weirdo in the group. She wanted a brand that felt welcoming, loving, energetic, and free, reflecting her vision of encouraging people to be themselves, fully and authentically.

SOLUTIONS

To align with Michele's vision, I focused on creating a brand identity that felt free, organic, weird, and uninhibited. Her strong brand identity now sets Wild One apart from her competitors while also creating a memorable and engaging experience for her customers. By leveraging her shop’s distinctive pink exterior and black roof, we established a strong and iconic color association, so when people see a pink cup with a black lid, they instantly think of Wild One without even seeing the logo. The main challenge was designing a logo that was playful and groovy without feeling 70s-outdated or juvenile. I customized the font to be chunky and squishy, maintaining legibility while dodging the line between dated and kiddish. In the end, we’ve created a brand that oozes energy and perfectly captures the vibe of letting out your inner wild one.
