The Espresso Barn

When Britany reached out to me, she had recently purchased The Espresso Barn, a local coffee shop that had been a community staple since 1996. She felt like The Barn was lacking a distinct identity and saw an opportunity to announce her new ownership with something that felt like her and more importantly, to give her community something to connect with.

SOLUTIONS

Because this rebrand was focused on maintaining her loyal audience, I focused on creating a brand that amplified what The Espresso Barn had become over the past two decades. Rather than starting from scratch, I wanted to honor its history while infusing it with Britany's personal touch. By going for a modern take on a vintage font, I was able to fuse those worlds together, and the color palette was inspired by the easy going energy from the boho era to embody a warm, positive, and welcoming vibe—aka if "humble coffee snob” was a palette, it’d be this. The rebrand has revived The Espresso Barn, making it feel uniquely Britany's while retaining its loyal community. Customers old and new have loved the updated look and feel, leading to increased sales and a stronger connection with the community. Britany's vision of a modern yet nostalgic coffee shop has officially come to life. This transformation feels like her, has retained the loyalty of her existing customers and has also attracted new visitors who now have made The Barn their go-to coffee shop.
