BRIEF

When Britany reached out to me she had recently purchased The Espresso Barn; a coffee shop that had been open since 1996. She was struggling to have The Barn feel like hers and needed support in pointing it in the right direction to achieve her goals and dreams for the business.

SOLUTIONS

Because this rebrand was keeping the original business name, and because Britany wanted to continue nurturing and maintaining her loyal audience, I knew it would be best to create a brand that improved and amplified what their business has become over the last two decades, rather than start from ground zero. Going into our Strategy Dev stage, I knew I wanted to create a brand that conveyed the laid-back charm The Espresso Barn is known for, but put a modern spin on it to make it feel more like Britany's style. In terms of fonts and colors, I felt a modern take on a vintage font would fuse both worlds together of honoring their history while also welcoming the future into the brand. And if “humble coffee snob” was a color palette, The Espresso Barn would have it—influenced by boho minimalism, their palette embodies a vibe that feels warm, positive, and welcoming.
